If your top load washer does not spin or drain, it may be necessary to replace the washer lid switch. Before you begin, unplug the washer power cord from the wall. Then turn off the water supply to the washing machine.
Locate the washer control panel and remove the two screws holding it in place. lift the control panel, find the old washer lid switch and disconnect it from the base. Remove the two spring clips using a flathead screwdriver.
Lift the washer body off the machine and detach the electrical connection from the body. The new washer laid switch will be mounted underneath the lid.
Remove the two screws holding the old lid switch using a flathead screwdriver. Place the machine on it’s front. Detach the ground wire. Remove the old wiring harness, attach the new wiring harness and attach the ground wire. Reattach the lid switch to the machine.
Now you can reconnect the body to the frame and the washer lid switch onto the control panel.
